Greetings! My name is Mishelle Wade. I am a self-taught artist (practicing henna since 2011) and my main passion is HENNA! I grew up in Miami, FL and have since moved to Austin, Texas. I attended college at FGCU in the gulf coast of Florida and FIU in Miami, majoring in Art and Communications. I never finished because I was too interested in following my passion for henna which I can't really learn in college. I consider myself a student of the universe staying curious and interested in new forms of art, knowledge & techniques.
Nature inspires me to create plant-based body art using henna. Henna art combines my love for this earth and human connection. It enables me to touch the lives of many people and create something temporary and beautiful. Henna is a lot like life!
When I am not slinging henna I love to hike with my dogs and explore. I also have a love for fashion because it is an outward way of expressing ourselves. When you meet me you will realize I am a big goof who only takes her art seriously! I am always respectful but feel like life is too short not to laugh.
My goal is to share this ancient art form with as many people as possible! I love Austin because of its beautiful nature and its creative people.. I am always excited to meet other artists and love to trade, collaborate and barter. I am passionate about helping others and building community so I helped start the first ever Austin Henna Meet-up. Please join "Henna Artists of Texas" on Facebook if you are interested in coming to our meet-ups! (https://www.facebook.com/groups/HennaArtistsofTexas/)
Serving Austin, Texas/ Miami, Florida and surrounding areas. Please enjoy my cute dog pics! The small one is Smee, my own dog and a therapy animal. I take him with me to most of my henna events so chances are you will meet him. The bigger one is Daisy, adopted by my sister in college. They are the best of friends! Thank you for reading.. Peace
